Black & White Sunday - Young and Old

"Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog."

This old boy is beautiful Duke. His eyes reflect a lifetime of being adored - he sits and watches his young brother Barney shoot around the garden full of the joys of Spring.

But Duke isn't sad, he's still a puppy at heart. He knows he can't run as fast as Barney any more - but he's still got a whole lot of playing to do.

Barney loves his big brother too. He copies him, and follows his lead, and wants to be just like Duke when he grows up.

"And they call it puppy love."

Happy Sunday all!

  3. Love the puppy and senior contrast idea! Mom loves the faces of senior dogs although it makes her a bit sad, they are so very beautiful.

  4. What sweet photos. Our senior girl loves to play with her young brother too. I think that's what's special about goldens....they refuse to grow up or slow down no matter what their age.

  8. Duke and Barney remind me so much of some pals in me neighborhood! Rusty, a Golden too, is very old and slow, his new brother Barney is the off spring of his brother before him, named Barney too. So he's teaching little Barney everything he knows. Love Dolly

  12. Those are incredible photos that tell the whole story by themselves. Duke does look so full of love and his little brother obviously adores him.

I love that quote. Although it's tough to see your dog get old, the bond grows stronger and stronger with every passing year. So, the love of an old dog is an amazing gift.
